From the top, a 360-degree panorama unfolds across Kinnaur, Spiti and the Western Himalayas, marking the dramatic transition from Himachal into a completely different landscape.
Rupin Waterfall
Leading up to the Upper Waterfall Camp (4,080m), it’s regarded as one of India’s most scenic and dramatic campsites, set right at the edge of the tree line.
Dhanderas Thatch
Reached after the longest and most rewarding day of the trek, it marks the gateway into raw, high-altitude terrain above the tree line.
Saruwas Thatch
As trekkers climb higher through this meadow, distant snow-covered ridges begin to reveal themselves, building anticipation for the high-altitude sections ahead.
Sangla Valley
Framed by apple orchards and dense pine forests of Kinnaur, it’s the perfect gentle descent to end an epic high-altitude journey.
Trek Plan (Day by Day)
Jiskun (2,099m) → Jhaka (2,750m) (🥾 Trek: 7–8 hours)
- Begin the trek from Jiskun and ascend through the Himalayan landscape.
- Gain nearly 800m of altitude on this rewarding first day.
- Pass through Saruwas Thatch (3,280m), surrounded by beautiful alpine meadows.
- Spot Himalayan birds and possibly musk deer along the trail.
- Arrive at Jhaka village for an overnight homestay.
Jhaka (2,750m) → Saruwas Thatch (3,280m) → Dhanderas Thatch (3,566m) (🥾 Trek: 5–6 hours)
- Start the day with breakfast before stepping onto the trail through dense forest cover.
- Trek alongside the roaring Rupin River through a dramatic rocky gorge.
- Cross a wooden bridge hanging above a thundering waterfall.
- Ascend through terraced fields and traditional stone houses.
- Reach Dhanderas Thatch (3,566m), a stunning alpine meadow surrounded by cascading streams.
- Camp overnight under the Himalayan sky.
Dhanderas Thatch (3,566m) → Upper Waterfall Camp (4,080m) (🥾 Trek: 8–10 hours)
- Leave the meadows behind as the trail climbs into high-altitude terrain.
- Witness the spectacular Rupin Waterfall, which can appear frozen during the season.
- Follow the trail along the waterfall’s edge with dramatic mountain views.
- Reach Upper Waterfall Camp (4,080m), one of the trek’s most scenic campsites.
- Enjoy an early dinner and rest before the summit push.
Upper Waterfall Camp (4,080m) → Rupin Pass (4,657m) → Ronti Gad Camp (4,005m) (🥾 Trek: 8–10 hours)
- Begin the summit push around 4:00 AM with hot tea and a light breakfast.
- Climb steep snowy terrain towards Rupin Pass (4,657m).
- Reach the pass and enjoy 360° views of Kinnaur, Spiti and the Western Himalayas.
- Cross into Himachal’s Kinnaur district as the landscape transforms dramatically.
- Descend through loose scree and snow fields into the Ronti Gad valley.
- Reach Ronti Gad Camp (4,005m) for a well-earned rest after the summit day.
Ronti Gad Camp (4,005m) → Sangla Valley (2,675m) (🥾 Trek: ~8 hours)
- Begin the final descent from camp into the lush Sangla Valley.
- Trek through apple orchards and dense pine forests of Kinnaur.
- Experience a striking contrast between the high-altitude pass and the green valley below.
- Reach Sangla Valley (2,675m) and conclude your Rupin Pass adventure.

Good to Know Before You Go
🛏️ Room Sharing & Upgrades:
All accommodation is on a twin-sharing basis. Prefer a private room? We’ll try our best (extra charges apply), but at high-altitude spots like Annapurna Base Camp, availability is very limited. Even if you request a private room, sharing may be necessary.
🚫 Trek Abandonment & Unused Services:
If you leave the trek midway, we’re unable to refund or adjust costs for unused services. For such situations, personal travel insurance is essential — claims need to be made directly with your insurer.
🍲 Meals During the Trek:
You’ll get three meals a day — one main dish per meal (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), plus a hot drink (tea/coffee). Want extras? You’re welcome to order more at your own cost directly at the tea houses.

The Himalayas are majestic, but also wild! At Trekoroma, your safety comes first. Every trek is led by licensed, experienced guides trained to handle the unexpected, so you can focus on the adventure.

Cancellation Policy & Refunds

We get it — plans change! You can reschedule your trek at no extra cost if you inform us at least 15 days before your original arrival date.
❌ Cancellations
Cancel 15 days or more in advance, and we’ll refund 25% of your deposit. Unfortunately, cancellations made less than 15 days before arrival are non-refundable.
